He serves as the Chairman of the Board for the World Poker Tour, which is a subsidiary of Lakes Entertainment. Berman is also one of the world's top poker players . He has won three gold bracelets in the World Championships and was inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame at Binion's Horseshoe in Las Vegas on May 20, 2002. In 1990, Berman participated in the founding of Grand Casinos, Inc. He is credited as one of the early visionaries in the development of casinos outside of the traditional gaming markets of Las Vegas and Atlantic City.
